Hospitality Quality, Viewed Through the Guest’s Eyes
Meet Klayton
Hospitality excellence isn't created by chance. It is built through disciplined operations, consistent standards, and an unwavering commitment to the guest experience. For more than a decade, Klayton Dennis has dedicated his career to helping hospitality organizations deliver memorable stays by strengthening the operational systems behind every guest interaction.
Over the past ten years, Klayton has held leadership positions across nearly every segment of the hospitality and tourism industry. His experience includes luxury river cruise ships, international cruise lines, destination resorts, RV resorts, vacation rentals, boutique lodging, restaurants, marinas, retail operations, tourism attractions, and live entertainment venues. This diverse background provides a unique perspective that allows him to evaluate hospitality operations as both an experienced operator and the discerning guest every business strives to impress.
Throughout his career, Klayton has served in leadership roles with American Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, ExplorUS, Camp QYB, Stark Caverns, and the Yakov Smirnoff Theatre. Each organization presented unique operational challenges, from luxury guest service and large-scale entertainment to resort openings, operational turnarounds, and destination tourism management. The common thread throughout every role has been a relentless focus on quality, consistency, accountability, and guest satisfaction.
As a Hotel General Manager with American Cruise Lines, Klayton oversees every aspect of hotel operations aboard luxury U.S. river cruise vessels. His responsibilities encompass housekeeping, guest services, culinary and restaurant operations, entertainment, shore excursions, hotel administration, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and the leadership of multidisciplinary hospitality teams. In an environment where every voyage represents a complete guest experience and there is little room for error, he has refined the ability to recognize operational risks before they become guest complaints and to build systems that consistently deliver exceptional service.
Before joining American Cruise Lines, Klayton led operations for resorts, campgrounds, marinas, restaurants, retail businesses, and tourism attractions throughout the Midwest and Texas. He has managed property openings, developed comprehensive standard operating procedures, implemented quality assurance programs, improved housekeeping operations, reduced operating costs, strengthened guest satisfaction, trained leadership teams, and introduced operational improvements that enhanced both efficiency and profitability.
His hospitality expertise is complemented by years of leadership in live entertainment and cruise production, where flawless execution, attention to detail, and seamless coordination were essential to delivering world-class guest experiences. That background reinforced a principle that continues to guide his work today: exceptional hospitality is the result of countless operational details executed consistently behind the scenes.
These experiences became the foundation for HospIQ.
Who We Are
HospIQ was created to provide independent hospitality quality assurance for hotels, resorts, vacation rental managers, RV parks, campgrounds, and other lodging providers seeking an objective, experienced perspective on their operations. Through comprehensive operational assessments, CleanScore™ cleanliness audits, Stay360™ guest experience evaluations, PeakReady™ readiness inspections, and detailed reporting, HospIQ helps operators identify opportunities for improvement before they impact guest satisfaction, online reviews, or revenue.
Why We’re Unique
Unlike traditional consultants who rely primarily on recommendations, Klayton approaches every assessment as an experienced hospitality operator. His evaluations are informed by thousands of hours spent leading housekeeping departments, managing hotel operations, conducting inspections, coaching leadership teams, resolving guest concerns, opening new properties, and maintaining the operational standards expected by some of the hospitality industry's most recognized brands.
Today, Klayton combines more than a decade of real-world operational leadership with an independent, objective approach to quality assurance. His mission is to help hospitality businesses elevate operational standards, improve guest experiences, strengthen their online reputation, and create the consistency that drives long-term success.
What We Offer
-
Hospitality businesses are reviewed every day by guests, but most operators do not receive detailed feedback until something has already gone wrong.
Online reviews may reveal frustration, but they rarely explain the complete operational cause.
HospIQ helps close that gap.
Our services identify issues before they become repeated complaints, poor reviews, refund requests, or lost bookings. Every evaluation is designed to help operators understand what is happening, why it matters, and what should be corrected first.
Three supporting points
See What Guests See
We evaluate the property from arrival through departure, focusing on the details that shape the guest experience.
Measure What Matters
Our audits use structured scoring, documentation, photographs, and clear performance standards.
Improve What Happens Next
Clients receive prioritized corrective actions rather than vague opinions or generic consulting advice.
-
HospIQ services are designed for:
Vacation-rental managers
Independent hotels
Boutique resorts
Cabin and lodge operators
RV parks and campgrounds
Inns and bed-and-breakfasts
Marinas and recreation properties
Hospitality ownership groups
New or recently acquired properties
Whether you operate one distinctive property or a growing portfolio, HospIQ provides a clear outside perspective on the experience you are delivering.
-
We believe quality assurance should be clear, fair, consistent, and useful.
HospIQ does not inspect properties to create an unrealistic standard of perfection. We evaluate whether the property delivers the experience it promises and whether the operation is meeting reasonable guest expectations.
Our reports distinguish between minor presentation opportunities, operational deficiencies, and critical issues that require immediate attention.
The goal is not simply to find problems.
The goal is to help operators protect their reputation, strengthen consistency, and deliver a better guest experience.
